The courage to change your mind.

What does it really take to start again?

Beyond surface-level self-help.

Second Start is a podcast that explores our psychology in three different ways: through conversations with psychologists, psychotherapists and authors about their areas of expertise, through books the host reviews, and through people sharing how they've navigated their own mental health, sense of purpose, or relationships.

Hi, I'm Tennessee.

I'm a Franco-American podcast host, based in London. I started out studying psychology in Paris, then moved into publishing, spending a few years in the book industry. Starting this podcast was part of my own "second start", back to psychology, with particular attention to books!

I created Second Start out of genuine curiosity, to get the answers I needed. Before every episode, I either read a book to put it in context and talk about it with nuance, or read my guests' books and prepare deeply, so we can try and cover the complexity of the subjects we discuss.

I want the podcast to be a space where people feel heard and get something out of it, and maybe even take a positive risk!
